How do you migrate from grid to solar?
To convert your current system to solar completely can be very expensive and depending on your specific situation, will not always be cost effective. The storing of energy for the hours when the sun is not shining is the main challenge. A modular approach starting with solar water heating and a small inverter/ battery system to overcome load shedding is a much more reasonable approach.
Can I use the power grid as a storing device?
In most cases, no. South Africa’s grid is not designed to act as a storage system for excess solar energy unless you have specific municipal approval and a grid-tied setup in place.
For most homes and businesses, a battery system is the most reliable way to store your solar energy and ensure you have power when you need it, especially during loadshedding.

Can hail damage the solar panels?
